Caffeine withdrawal- experiences

Not sure fun is the word I'd use! I have always struggled with insomnia, add in a high workload and caffeine is pretty much my favorite crutch, the catch is that I periodically develop too high a tolerance for it (think downing two cans of Red Bull on the trot and barely even noticing) so occasionally I take a week cold turkey and it sort of resets me.

Nothing wrong with caffeine.I drink about 6 to 7 coffee's a day.
.
Me too..
Have often thought about reducing my intake but I don't know what I'd replace it with.
It has the caffeine and also camomile tea like properties, so whilst staying focused you dont get the massive wired feeling or if drinking too much, the shakes.
I used to have a fair few brews during the day.
I got to the point I was drinking it because I was tired but I presume the caffeine was the reason I wasn't sleeping well - viscous circle.
I now just have morning lunch and early evening ones now. The only exception is is might have one before I train if I'm having one of those I can't be bothered days.
Less is better for me but if I cut it totally out I get some really bad headaches. Only last a day though.

I weaned myself off, mixing decaff with normal coffee, and then increasing the ratio, it has definitely made a positive difference to my mental well being, and occasionally post night shift I need a lift and have an espresso and it actually works. Read somewhere that certain people cannot tolerate more than 500mg of caffeine and iirc that is two cappuccinos!

t when I went cold turkey. Generally lethargic, but also a bit clumsy. I also kicked sugar and sweetener at the same time, which probably didn't help.
Thats like substituting steak with lettuce.
