Dental implant overseas

Hey folks

Looking for some advice, managed to fk my face up in a furniture related incident about a year ago (really wish I had a better story, tripped over a desk into a sidetable), basically knocked my left incisor out and needed a crown on my 2 front teeth. Got the 2 fronts capped at my local dental hospital on the day of the incident & based on my latest X-ray they have sealed properly and I am in the clear to get further treatment done. Currently using a denture but to be honest I hate it, spoke to my dentist recently who said he could put a bridge over the gap, however after doing a bit of research I have decided I would really rather prefer a dental implant, however they are not covered at all by the NHS, meaning the UK is actually one of the most expensive countries to get one done in. They range between £1000-1500 for a single tooth, compared to £230 for a bridge with the NHS comping the rest of the costs. Overseas, mainly within the eastern EU implants can be done for £500-600 though, I really am tempted to try and go for one but honestly have no idea what it entails.

Anyone bit the bullet and went over for some work? Most of the big clinics seem to be in Poland, Hungary & Slovakia which are all £50-70 return flights away. Also does anyone know if I can get this kind of work done at a NHS student hospital? I have previously visited them religiously (being a skint student myself) and would be more than willing to get work done in there if there was a discounted rate, asked my dentist about this who was unsure whether or not student hospitals done this type of work.

I looked at this a couple of years ago. didn't happen but what I learned was that the main concerns voiced are to do with follow up or any remedial actions that may be necessary post intervention.

I found, through a colleague, a dentist in Prague who would do all the work and provide routine follow up appointments over thye following year for a price that worked out at approximately 1/3 of UK. add in flights (but wouldn't need accommodation) and still a bargain.

I also found a pop-up clinic in London somewhere which was essentially a dental suite that was staffed by locum dentists from overseas. the model seemed to be to fly the teams in for 2 weeks at a time to undertake work pre-booked via the website. the same teams would rotate on the 2 weekly schedule and this would, I guess, go some way to allaying concerns around follow up. i'll see if I can find the details again but should be google-able (that's how I found it).

I do have several other colleagues who get all their dentistry and other stuff seen to on trips home - predominantly India/SE Asia - they seem happy enough with things.

I can recommend a dentist in Malta I trust who could probably recommend a colleague to do the work if he can't. I had a root canal done a few years ago at a total cost of €170 including two visits, X rays etc.
