So any particular reason that you don't want to just shave your head like the rest of us slap heads? It's the way forward and much cheaper smile

Embrace it and shave it. Anything else is tragic.

Get it done so there is a grid for O's and X's. So when the spouse is bored, they have something to do. As long as they have a biro.

My postman got a hair transplant a few Months ago. To be fair it has made a small difference but nothing like I thought it would.

He has to take tablets all the time to make sure the hair does not start to fall out.

When you see someone like Wayne Rooney who has Millions of pounds at his disposal still not having a successful transplant it puts me totally off ever getting one done.

I do not exactly like having thinning hair but having it very short actually makes it look less thin.

Surely there are enough horror stories online to put anyone off? Plus when you do eventually lose you hair (implants don't last) you will be left with a scarred head as well as being bald.

Just have a few rabbits tattooed on your head. From a distance they'll look like hares.

Save the money, and just buy a £20 set of clippers, and spend the rest on counselling if its a problem. Grade 2 all over (if you are starting to thin), then down to #1 all over when you are getting patchy, then remove the #1 attachment for the final stage.

From someone that had long hair until they were ~21, it was heartbreaking to start going bald in my mid-20's, but you get over it.

You still get the odd "bald joke" from people, but its generally very easy to find something about them to come back with, like "...yeah, but at least im not fat" which tends to shut them up.

Agree with this. I was thinning on my crown for years and although never a bald spot it was clearly visable and took loads of comments from mates and the longer it went the more paranoid I got. Ended up biting the bullet, number 4, then 2, and now just have 1.5 all over. Feel loads better and now dont care. Still get the baldy comments but its more in jest from mates.

The worst case is holding on as long as possible, and making clear attempts to disguise the fact your balding.

OP, have you tried minoxidyl treatment? I know most people think of such treatments as a snake oil thing, but they can work in some cases. My teenage son started to recede at his temples and got very down about it. I took him to see a consultant dermatologist (not one of these dodgy clinics that advertise all sorts of electrotherapy etc). He said try minoxidyl, adding that it typically works on a about a third of cases. My son turned out to be lucky - he had regrowth in the problem areas and it sorted it and allowed him to concentrate on school work. It was an eye opener to me.
