Knock on effects of NHS Issues - Not good
Discussion
3rd of Jan, wifey fell off a horse & islocated a shoulder called 999 waited an hour for an ambulance to arrive & nothing, called again, 999 said ambulance had not been even been dispatched & they could not guarantee one soon. So they advised she be taken to the local minor injuries unit by car. (All of this in extreme pain)
Gets to the local minor injuries unit & the specialist there advised they could not put it back in without anesthetic, they called an ambulance to take her to Salisbury District Hospital. Eventually after 5 Hours!! an ambulance arrives & with good dose of morphine she gets taken to Salisbury & its put back in under anesthetic.
That's not the worst of it though & it looks like a very lengthy recovery is now on the cards.

Would it not have been better and more appropriate to have simply driven her to A+E in the first place?
Dislocated shoulders should not be bothering ambulances I would have thought.
In Hindsight yes, though she was in agony with any movement of it. When at the first hospital they gave her gas & wouldn't administer morphine or other drugs to get her to the next hospital in a car.Dislocated shoulders should not be bothering ambulances I would have thought.
To be fair the specialist she since seen says its the worst case he's seen in some time.

My daughter dislocated her shoulder several times playing netball.
It became so bad, it would simply fall out reaching for the TV remote.
The local hospital accused her of dislocating it on purpose and would refuse to put it back in.
She had to go to the neighbouring authority hospital, who, in the end developed the same attitude.
Finally and fortunately she was referred to the Royal Orthopedic Hospital, Stanmore.
Wonderful.
They operated December 2015. Still problems but way better than it was.
My advise, your Wife MUST give it time to fully heal, no if's or buts.
