I have had pain in the right side of my chest on and off for the last few weeks. I would class as a dull pain rather than sharp if that makes sense, just below and to the centre of right nipple.

The thing is there is absolutely no pattern to when it occurs. Sometimes it is sore to touch, but more often than not it isn't. The pain seems to come for a few seconds then go and I can't recreate it which makes me think the dr would struggle to diagnose anything.

Any suggestions? I am ruling out rib or muscular on the basis that surely the same movement should cause the same pain, and the fact that it isn't getting any better. Always seems to be as I move or change position, but then moving in exactly the same way again won't make it happen again.

It's doing my head in and I really don't want to waste the drs time or end up on an ecg when they are so busy.

Don't think you would get an ecg unless your heart is on the right. If it's bothering you go to gp. But yes, it can be muscular especially when doing repetitive movement. What are these movements you're doing, if it's not too rude to ask?

Don't be fooled that it's on the RHS..Lots of blood vessels and other 'ancilliary equipment' lie in this area!

You'll not be wasting the doctor's time by getting a consultation.

I have the same pain but mine manifests itself in line with feeling anxious.
