I keep on getting cramp in the calf muscle of my right leg and it's driving me crazy. Just sitting down now on the sofa and I can feel it tingling like it's going to cramp.

Any ideas on how to alleviate it?

I get a lot of leg/foot cramps regular walking type exercise is recommended, also try eating the occasional Banana high in Potassium, or also try Potassium protein tablets. Has positive effects on cardiovascular health.

Thanks for the advice. I have been drinking tonic water as the quinine is supposed to help.

I get this a lot when cutting out carbs. It's potassium lacking as the other poster said. I ate pickled gurkins and it helped a lot.

I got it a lot when I cut salt out of my diet. Bananas and tonic water stopped it!

This is what my dear old dad used to do ,but be aware that not all brands of tonic water contain quinine ,strange really as tonic water became popular because of the benefits of quinine .
Looser topped socks helped him as well .

I get really bad leg cramps, usually at night. I think it is to do with my medication (I had a stroke at 43 years old). I didn't realise the banana was good for it - will eat one before bed now.

I really feel sorry for my wife though. I can go from "asleep" to "crying in pain" in about 1 second - she gets the worst of it!

I highly recommend taking a magnesium supplement - it has really helped me with cramps and muscle pain. Make sure you drink plenty of water as well.
