I went to the docs last week, and they did a routine blood test while I was there.

They have phoned me back and want to do more for "bone function, Gamma GT and Liver Function"

Why is this, of course I Googled it and it seems related to alcohol abuse, but at 23 units a week is that really too much?

What do others consume a week?

Much more than that.

23 units is a very precise figure!

More than that, did have a liver function test that was described as marginal a while back, should probably cut back really.

Everyone is different though, some people will never have an issue drinking 20 odd units a week, others it will have a detrimental effect on.

Don't sweat it, unless you are caning it, it is more than likely routine, been through all this as I had some Billiary issues, I like a drink and had loads of test, including an MRI on my liver, which came back fine, wasn't fatty, wasn't scarred despite me giving it some stick over the years.

Will probably perhaps show slightly elevated numbers, just drink sensibly, you will get "the speech" but I think really, you have to be quite a piss head to actually break it, 23 units a week, unless a very low tolerance or some other issues, wouldnt do it.
