Missed phone call from hospital query

I had a missed phone call yesterday from a number I didn't recognise but googled it to see who it might be from. Turns out it's from a London hospital that I've an appointment at next week. It will be a big inconvenience to me if they were calling to rearrange my appointment time/date. It takes a whole day to travel down, be seen and return home.
Is it likely that they will have tried to ring other people to rearrange their appointments as they couldn't contact me? Previously if I've had an appointment changed they've sent me a letter.
I'm reluctant to call them back in case they do want me to change appointment time/dates - but obviously don't want to travel down to London for nothing.
Anyone know hospital procedures?

I've never missed a hospital appointment, though often have appointments changed. It will be the first time they've 'reminded me' in the 20 years I've been an out patient there. Though I've had text messages from other hospitals before to remind me. Perhaps it's a new procedure they've put in place.
I doubt that would happen - it's an eye clinic, and I'm one of 10 booked in at the 1330, which is the first of the afternoon shift. Doctors don't appear till 1400 as they're on lunch break. I've been trying for ages to have my eyes seen at my local hospital, which have Moorfield representation, but am told I have to keep travelling down to London as they don't do that particular clinic.
The 1330 time slot is prized because it allows people from outside London to make use of off peak rail travel.

Just had a phone call from them - they did want to reschedule my appointment time as they have a shortage of doctors. However, I said I needed that time because of the off peak train travel and I'd cancelled my other appointments for that day to make theirs. He seemed to think I'd already bought my train ticket so said that he'd leave it as it was.
