Rubber Dumbells - Why so expensive!

Looking to purchase some rubber dumbbells (7.5kg, 10kg, 15kg, 20kg) for some home workouts, however rubber dumbbells seem to be horrendously expensive. Can anyone point me in the direction of some reasonably priced ones please?

Standard sets with iron plates are much cheaper - the downside being you have to keep swapping the plates about. The plus side being you can buy smaller plates (like 0.5kg) to add progression between larger increments.

I got a set of used Bowflex Dumbbells on eBay and they're pretty good for being able to switch plates quickly and don't take up any room.

Sorry I can't advise on rubber ones though having not bought any!

We bought some rubber dumbells in Aldi of all places, thay're perfectly good. Sainsburys had some reduced a couple of weeks back, also OK

Gumtree or eBay for 2nd hand will be your cheapest option.

I got a load from the tip, was dropping some stuff off and a chap was divesting himself of loads of weights and bars, I told him they were worth decent money and I was prepared to pay for them, he just said dont worry and we loaded them in my car ;D
