My partner cant stop snacking and finds it hard to lose weight, she also needs big portions at teatime to fill her.

Is there any supplements or advice anyone could offer that can make her full after eating or reduce her appetite throughout the day?

Protein.

She needs to get off the sugar cycle. Eat meat and green vegetables. No alcohol, no sugar, no white carbs.

Expect withdrawal. Good luck.

We have tried that, always have protein with every meal, never just have carbs etc, she just cant seem to stop eating, constantly craves food.

What is she snacking on?

I ask, because there aren't many easy no carb snacks...

Drink a big glass of cold water when hungry. And try porridge.

Jaffa cakes. Eat a pack of those and you'll feel pretty full tongue out

Green tea works well, alternatively she could have a mint/use mouthwash so everything tastes disgusting?

Every time she feels like eating, she should go for a run.

Exercise is an appetite suppressant (for a while). I'm sure that's what my Mrs does.

Some people get high blood sugars from protein so it then causes blood sugar drops and hunger. E.g. See http://www.diabetes.co.uk/forum/threads/how-does-p...

Fat works for me, far better than protein.

Also watch for poor sleep and high stress levels, as both will raise cortisol which makes blood sugar control more difficult, and will cause hunger

Problem is part psychological. I understood that you shouldn't feel "full" after a meal...it's a relatively good sign of over eating.

Also agree with drinking more water. I read somewhere that feeling of Hunger is sometimes actually thirst & linked to dehydration

One tip I've found does work to suppress the urge to constantly snack is to brush your teeth... purely psychological but it does seem to deter me from wanting to eat if my teeth/mouth feel freshly brushed and clean.

Probably also need to get to the bottom of why she's constantly 'feeling hungry'... boredom eating? comfort eating?

grumbledoak nailed it in the first post; this + willpower.

You can search around for as many appetite suppressants, fat burners, etc. etc. as you like but it will largely come down to the type and amount of food being consumed and the lack of willpower to resist them when you feel hungry.

Have a large glass of water or green tea by all means if it takes the edge off but it'll be sugar cravings due to the peaks and troughs of eating a carb-heavy diet and / or the withdrawals of reducing carbs generally.

My 2p

Leave carbs out totally for two weeks, then slowly add them back in at a respectable rate. Focus on Proteins, ie eggs, meat, fish etc

From a health point of view, get her to the doctors. Could be diabetes, thyroid, pregnancy, anything is posssible!

ice lollys/tip tops (or whatever they are called in your region: ice poles, mr freeze etc)

Gives the sensation of eating, Has some flavour but no/little calories. Not so great in winter but in summer not to bad. Has saved me from snacking a few times when I just needed the sensation of eating something rather than requiring food.

I was doing this, until it got out of hand and my weight ballooned to over 16 stone, I am a small framed 5'7 male.

There has to be a moment when you really want to do it, for me it was seeing a picture of myself at a wedding and thinking I looked stupid with my big round face and belly. Once I started to exercise it scared me how out of shape I was, that also encouraged me.

Its hard, there is no special quick answer, exercise and watch what you eat. She is going to feel hungry she isn't going to be full after any/every meal but in a few months time she will feel soo much better and as a bonus look better!!
