Using a pee bottle
Discussion
I've started to use a pee bottle rather then getting up in the middle of the night to go to the toilet. At what age do you think this is acceptable? I have a demanding job and don't want to waste energy going to the loo in the middle of the night and a pee bottle is so more convenient. I'm not sure if i'm just being idle or very efficient?
The house I was born in didn't have an inside bathroom at all. A small hours pee required donning
a dressing gown and slippers, schlepping downstairs, though the kitchen and out to the privy
at the end of the path. It involved taking a candle to see by, battling the spiders and hoping
it wasn't raining, or worse, snowing.
Inclement conditions made it acceptable to use a china gazunder but it remained unused
for most of the year.
And no, I wasn't in prison.

Well I think it's great that someone born 120 years ago has kept up with technology and is using the internet. a dressing gown and slippers, schlepping downstairs, though the kitchen and out to the privy

My grandparents had their first inside bathroom installed about 30 years ago. I'm only 40 and remember as a child using the outside facilities and a tin bath in front of the fire in the living room.Reminds me of:
Mrs. Pants: But what about the privies?
Blackadder: Um, well, what we are talking about in privy terms is the latest in front wall fresh air orifices combined with a wide capacity gutter installation below.
Mrs. Pants: You mean you crap out the window?
Blackadder: Yes.
Mrs. Pants: Well in that case we'll definitely take it. I can't stand those dirty indoor things.
