I know there are some knowledgeable folk on here....

I had a foot op at the end of October 2016 - removing some bunionette from the outside of the foot and then reworking the big toe joint. Apparently the big toe was arthritic so they removed some material off the top of the joint to make movement better.

The issue I have is the big toe is still painful, it feels like when you need to crack a joint. Sometimes if I wiggle my big toe a lot I can get it to crack and then it feels better for a while.

I can live with the big toe but the foot is also quite swollen which makes wearing shoes difficult. The more I do on it the more swollen it gets.

Is this just a question of time or is there something else I can be doing? Is ICE relevant here or is that just for new injuries?

Any help appreciated. I'd love to get back to as I was before really. It wasn't that bad (although I assume would of got worse and the been a bigger op).

Thanks in advance.
