Radiotherapy's a breeze!

I have my seventh session of radiotherapy this evening and so far I've had no side effects. I'm having it to the side of my head just in front of my right ear. I was advised I may get a burnt mouth and ear canal along with very red skin. So far I've not had any of that; only a slight bit of bone pain in my jaw joint. I've got three more sessions this week and then that's it, so hopefully I'll avoid any side effects all together. I'm starting to think they're forgetting to switch the thing on once I'm lined up!!
Has anyone else experienced an 'easy' course of radiotherapy or am I blessed?

A friend of mine had 5 weeks of daily sessions, he was fine until the start of week 5 - then it caught up with him, big time.

Take it easy!

ETA: When he had a grumble towards the end of his course, he was told that the side effects tend to begin at the end / after the course finishes.

However, you have a shorter course - so fingers crossed!

I had five weeks of daily radiotherapy last year for pancreatic cancer.

The most painful thing about it was driving into Leeds every day!! but I guess everyone reacts differently.

Ah ha, so it seems it's just because I have a shorter course. I certainly wouldn't fancy five weeks, but of course, we do what we have to do!!

Leeds? Sorry to hear that. Hopefully you're completely over it now.

A small bonus of having cancer in the Brighton area is that they have a dedicated car park for cancer patients, which is free. So whilst it's a pain driving in every day at least I can park. I don't think it's up there with Leeds though!
