As above,

Suprised myself how quick the body can heal.

Had a wee accident last Sunday, bit of the backround (I was away with the Fire Brigade as I do it retained for our village outwith my own job and was away for 2 weeks doing BA and firefighting so fighting fires and so on, got home with NO injuries)

On Sunday decided I would cut down a tree in the garden that I've been meaning to do for ages, decided I wouldn't need a helmet because it was pretty small and would only take a couple of minutes, so started cutting it by hand decided it didnt warrant the powersaw and it started to fall away and then BANG I'm on the deck and come round to the wife shouting my name wondering where I am (she was watching from the house but I was on a banking so she couldn't really see me) I managed to get up blood spraying from my head, wondered over to her and it was clear something wasn't right haha I spewed immediatley as I felt sick and she got the keys to take me to hospital (15 miles away)

Anyway head was sore, bleeding heavily, neck sore, nose bleeding, eyebrow bleeding and mouth turned out I made a fair mess of myself.

Got to A + E they took me through, didn't stitch me as I had a suspected broken neck after them checking me over. Luckily I never broke my neck apparently did some tendon/muscle damage, required 14 stitches in my head.

So off I go home with a sore head and so on, then over the passed week I havent been sleeping, been VERY forgetful stuff like leaving my wallet places, not brushing my teeth before work, forgetting laptop password and peoples names. This got me VERY worried so gave the docs a ring and spoke to him, he said because I had a pretty bad concussion this would happen.

Then just yesterday everything cleared up, I felt like I could concentrate again, no forgetfulness (not sure how i would know haha), stitches are not sore a all. amazing.

Moral of the story - Always wear the correct PPE......

Apparently I am VERY lucky and very lucky the wife was there as I was in no state to drive to the hospital.

Just thought I would share this..

Absolutely correct moral. Best one of my Dad's was bouncing a chainsaw off a nail into his forehead. I have a friend with a cracking Harry Potter lightning scar from a hedge trimmer.

We were having a laugh with me been in the FB that everything revolves around PPE and me for some reason skipped that for a moment and it near cost me.

The nurse who stitched me up was telling me about a lad who bounced a chainsaw off a tree into his face, she said it made a hell of a mess.

Scary stuff, gave me a proper fright.
