Rotator cuff tear and reverse shoulder replacement
Discussion
My mother (> 70 years) had a fall a couple of months ago and it transpires that her rotator cuff muscle is torn. She cannot lift her arm in front of her and is finding it quite debilitating and affecting her quality of life. The doc (Orthopaedic registrar) is not sure if the muscle can be repaired (he said he will consult with the radiologist) but if it can't, he has suggsted a reverse shoulder replacement.
