Been having issues with a weak and painfull shoulder for the last 3 or so years.
Had my third Cortisone injection today and the quack basically said that enough was enough...
Next time I get to he point of needing a jab will be surgery - potentially requiring 2 months off work if not more according to him.....
Anyone else had this done ?
Not really sure where I stand with work either tbh - been employed for two years but pretty much guaranteed to not get paid whilst off sick, if lucky to retain my job....

Yep, about 5 years ago. Worked an absolute treat for me.Injured shoulder by falling on it and then went through the complete NHS catalogue of let's try everything, starting with "let's see if it gets better on its own". Took 2 years of pain and frustration; cortisone injections did nothing for me (apart from the one that left my arm completely immobile for 24 hours!). Docs finally accepted that the bone spurs evident in my x-rays were the issue and got referred for a decompression.
Mine was done with keyhole surgery as a day case, and recovery was amazing; the three scars were tiny (I can't even find them now), swelling and pain was pretty much all gone within 48 hours and from then I had full, pain-free, shoulder mobility (for the first time in 2 years).
If they're talking 2 months off then it must be the old-style, cut your entire shoulder open, operation.
You should really press them to see if keyhole would work for your case and if it's just a case of them referring you out to the right surgeon (IIRC, not everywhere offers the keyhole option - but they really should!). I was in Sussex FWIW, and the op was done at the Horder Centre near Crowborough.

Symptoms are constanltly aching shoulder with painfull linited movement and very low strength....
Not good in a physical job !

I've had one done, my wife both. I was stupid along with less than great nursing care, in that while the nerve block was still on, I could swing my arm like a pendulum, enjoying the weird felling of not being able to feel my arm. This I fear caused a lot of damage. Follow that with a lack of physio, means that I have a lot of stiffness, and restricted movement.
My wife on the other hand, did her physio religiously, and has regained full, pain free movement.
The lesson is don't wave it about when it should be still, and do what the physio tells you.
