Colonic Hydrotherapy - Anyone had it done?
Discussion
The Mrs has seen this offer on wowcher where you can get it done for £35 (half price) and wants to give me this as my Christmas present.
Now I'm not sure what's led up to this as I'm a fairly regular kind of guy, once a day, with a 20 minute session parking my breakfast whilst reading a magazine. However my excuses for blaming the dog for the obnoxious fart smells is starting to wear thin. The dog has his own problems (now they are really bad silent but very deadly) and it would be better tried on him first if I had the option!
I'm familiar with the principles of the process but wonder whether I should take up the offer?

Won't change your smells, change your diet first, it's cheaper and doesn't involve pushing a hose up your bum
Agreed on the diet.The pros:
-Someone else, maybe female, gets to see your anus
-
The cons:
-You're wiping out the good bacteria as well as the bad. Anything that was going to come out would come out anyway. If you have any blockages, this procedure won't help.
-It's possible to lacerate your bowel resulting in problems that include death. A friend who works in A&E mentioned how someone was brought in with this problem and died.
So, on the hole, not a good idea.

Thanks. So somene has had it done. Although I have considered this route a 'one-way street' surely it must clear out all the crap?
I've had the super strength soapy laxative solution that the hospital gives patients before a colonoscopy. That certainly clears everything out of the colon. The really clean feeling only lasted a day, as soon as you started eating and drinking normally again things settled back down.McVities said:
there was a thread not that long ago in the lounge with a story of one chaps experience of a colonic.............it ended up with him redecorating the place, only to find out there was no shower
Just wish I could find it, as the whole thread had my crying with laughter

Why do you suspect that stuff is not being cleared out? Where do you think it's lodging? Have you been diagnosed with diverticulitis?gregs656 said:
