Christmas and families aibu

Trouble is my dad is married to literally the devil and we hate her so she's not welcome as her son has a few mental issues and attacked our son he was 13 and my son was 3 and my wife caught this and called the police, said boy has been taken into care (mental care) and been there for a year but there's been lots of arguing because of what happened with my wife been accused of making it up as we dislike the stepmum and my dad has fully supported them. They visit this lad and still has pictures all over the house yet doesn't rly see our kids and generally has no time for us!

I work with my dad so it makes it very awkward but my wife doesn't want him to visit Christmas Day but said ok to everyone else! To me this is unreasonable, it should be either open house to all family or none at all instead she's saying Boxing Day or xmas eve for him but he's very old fashioned in that he likes to give kids presents on xmas

So am I been unreasonable bare in mind me and the wife are now not talking whatsoever

I would be telling my wife to suck it up - it's your Dad.

I lost my Dad 7 years ago now and wish I could spend Xmas with him. Regardless of what you think of his partner, you work with him plus the source of the issues (the son) isn't there and...he's your Dad. Its not about Adults at this time of the year, it's always always about the kids.
