Recurring nose and throat problem.
Discussion
My 16 year old daughter gets a sore nose regularly, every 4 or 5 weeks, painful burning sensation up in the top of the her nose, sinuses maybe. Then her throat gets sore and clogged up. Followed by several days itchy cough. Lasts about a week, then goes away.
Six months ago she went to a local specialist clinic, to have the camera up her nose and down her throat, after referral from our doctor. Nothing was wrong, nothing unusual to be seen.
We’ve tried all the usual tablets, lozenges, syrups, antihistamine, Sinutabs, not sure if yet another trip to the docs is in order.
We moved to the UK from the Far East a year ago, but she also had a similar thing over there occasionally, so it is not the change in climate causing it.
Not sure if I have picked up the dreaded flu myself now, aching all over, sore throat.....

does she suffer from rhinitis?
Not that I’m aware of. Between bouts of sore nose and throat she seems fine.does she suffer from rhinitis?

Allergies? (eg. dogs, house dust mites)
We do have two big dogs. The sore nose etc seems to go away for a month or more completely, then come back for a week. It’s almost gone now, she was off school yesterday, in bed all day, but now I seem to have caught it, all aches and pains. Gassing Station | Health Matters | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
