Recently I have been feeling really cold all the time. I realise its winter, but this is indoors. I used to be the person opening windows and now I am lighting fires!

Any ideas why? I have been losing weight and quick google seems to link fewer calories with coldness, so could be that. I know as well its a symptom of thyroid problems. I have had some blood tests showing thyroid issues and am back at the hospital next week for more tests. Odd thing with that is my TSH is high, the antibodies are present but currently my actual thyroid hormones are normal (or were at the last check).

I have also been cycling to work so it could just be that I am getting cold in the morning and not warming up.

Sat a my desk wearing my coat. Everyone else things the temperature is fine.

As someone who runs hot most of the time I have started to notice the cold a bit more since losing some timber so maybe fat really does give good insulation!

That said only had a T-shirt and my fleece on whilst taking the kids to school this morning (-2°C).

Fat is a very good insulator, if you have lost weight recently it is not uncommon to feel the cold more.

However your internal thermostat will adjust once it figures out what the new normal is.

I've lost a couple of stone over the past 18 months and my feet always seem to be cold at the moment.

Might get fatter again, just to warm up.
