Really sorry to hear that and I agree with you totally, if you choose to end your own life when all hope has gone it should be your choice to do so with or without outside assistance.

My uncle's passed away not too long ago, my grandparents passed away too.

I'll never forget a close relative dieing in agony from cancer who said if he could walk to the window he'd jump out of it, it is a high rise hospital.

Animals are put out of their misery. One of my old bosses had cancer and in the final few weeks had to suffer stting out of his mouth! WTF is that all about?

Sorry folks, not sure why I posted. I know lots of people have suffered similar difficult circumstances - I wasn't looking for sympathy..... I just wanted to say fk fk fk fk bugger fk.

I'm really sorry to hear about your pain.
Perhaps it gives other relatives/friends a chance to see, and reflect on, mortality.

I would agree with euthanasia if that is the chosen way for an elderly person.
However, I was given the last rites in 1975 due to not being expected to encephalitis. Had my family taken the option at the time, then I would not have been able to pay my taxes for the last 40+ years.

Take the time to say goodbye, and ask if there is anything you can do on their behalf after they have gone .

Hoping the crack that bd cancer one day soon, dad went a day after his 60th birthday. Hands had to be strapped to the bed to stop him pulling all the cannula and stuff out. Not a nice way to see him go. Sounds bizzare but i was relieved for him when he took his last breath. 10 years he fought that.
