Advice required on rowing machine for home

I know the stock answer is Concept 2 - but the price! I already run and cycle, so just want something else to add into the mix. I don't mind spending a reasonable sum, but £860 is a bit too much!

There are some lower end ones that seem to get favourable reviews, but I don't know how much resistance they offer. I'm not planning on being a world class athlete (or any kind of athlete to be honest!), but I don't want to spend a hundred quid on something and find I hit its limits within a month or two.

So, does anyone have any non-Concept 2 recommendations for rowing machines? Or any particular specs I should look for when making a decision?

The C2 rower really is that good.

(Much) cheaper alternatives really are that bad.

There are lots of C2 rowers on ebay. They tend to go between £400-500 or so from what I've seen, but they may come up a bit lower; if you're prepared to be patient you may score a bargain.

And if you get bored with it you can always sell it for what you paid. I bought mine second hand 10 years ago and it's still going strong.
Look at it as cheap gym membership😀
