Recommend me an electric toothbrush

Turns out my brushing technique is a bit rubbish and I'm being a bit too heavy handed.

Muscle memory is a bh to overcome, so I'm going to look at electric brushes.

I haven't spent any time researching them myself yet but I'd appreciate any opinions - especially those of you in the dental business

Any of the Oral-B range. Great at cleaning teeth, comfortable and great battery life.

This is mine: Pro 4000, though there are plenty of others to choose from.

ETA: It was significantly cheaper when I bought it two years ago.

I recently got an Oral B 6500. It is really good, and tells you when you are pressing too hard so might sort out that problem. Has a comedy list price of £230 but I got mine for £55 on a one day Amazon deal.

Another vote for Oral B. I can't remember which mine is as it's about seven years old but my dental hygienist recommends them.

Just to be different we have a sonicare.

Preferred the standard shape head over the round oral b.

Sonicare DiamondClean.

Been using Sonicare toothbrushes for 15 years or so and they are the best plus Philips customer service is second to none.

I used to have an Oral-B 2000 but now have the sonicate linked above and it's much better than the oral-B. Recommended.

Sonicare was recommended by my dentist and I am now on my second. I have also just bought a water flosser which is fantastic. My dentist said they had two in to try and surprisingly the Sonicare was not very good. He recommended the Waterpik which i am more than happy with

I tried one but never liked it - stuck with manual and seems OK for me!

Which waterpik? My dentist recommended that i get a water flosser as i have a gap between/under molars which traps food and causes inflamation when i use interdentals.

Another vote for Sonicare.

Had mine for ages, during which time my wife has got through 3 Oral Bs.
Hers all failed on holding a charge for more than 5 minutes.

As an aside, how come replacement brushes for both main brands are so expensive?
