Elongation found on ECG stress test

Hi all,

Lots of genetic and other testing of my heart and cardiac system going on at the moment.

Had an ECG stress test last week and got a phone call the following day saying that they found an elongation in the recovery portion of my heartbeat.

I’ve got to do a 24hr ECG (waiting for the appt letter).

This elongation has nothing to do with what I’m being tested for (genetic FH or PH) - it’s additional. The nurse was pretty vague over the phone and googling such a broad term is pretty much marking me down for almost immediate death.

Anyone shed any light or thoughts?

I suspect they mean QT prolongation,but I can't be any more specific than that. There are reversible causes rather thanjust the high pprofile genetic cases.

The googling I’ve done seems to wholly suggest it would be an elongation of the QT phase.

I can’t find any layman’s terms site that gives causes and ways of fixing it.

Everything just points towards its association with ASDS.

are you on any meds currently ? - a number of commonly prescribed drugs can give rise to QT elevation

I’m allergic to statins so currently on ezetimibe (ezetrol). Nothing else.

I’ve never had an issue with blacking out during exercise or any of the other typical symptoms. Still waiting for the letter - that might shed some light.
