Hi folks,

So I have a real problem sleeping on Sunday nights, and will often be awake literally all night.

I’ve tried the common sense things - getting up early on Sunday morning, taking walks etc and nope, didn’t work. Tried herbal nytol and that did nothing too.

Can anyway recommend any ways to get to sleep in this situation? Including any over the counter drugs?

Me too. Not sure if there is an answer to this. How do you feel getting up on a Monday Morning?

Job related? I found a new job and don’t worry on a Sunday night about Monday morning.

Are you depressed and worried about what the following week will bring?

Other than that, there's no logical explanation.

Bob Geldof certainly doesn't.

I think it’s more anxiety but I’m not sure why I’m especially worried on Sunday nights tbh. I think I just start thinking of everything and it’s hard for me to settle down.

It’s fine until about 11am, then I start feeling like a zombie with awful headaches

Seriously, go and see your doctor about this, you've said you are anxious about stuff, they are there to help you.

Whatever you do, don't suffer in silence, that's the worse thing you can do.

I have the same problem. However, for 18 years I have generally got out of bed at 3.30 am to drive 60 miles to an airport and fly to London. That makes me unhappy hence crap sleep. Perhaps yours is similar?

What happens during the night? Do you stay in bed hour after hour not sleeping? Thinking about work and that you have to be up in 5 hours, 4 hours, 3 hours etc...? Classic insomnia if you do.

I suspect Digimeister was trying to understand what line of work you are in, not the mechanical process you go through after leaving your abode. Digimeister's underlying question (assuming that is what he was asking, and wasn't simply being nosey about your morning routine) could actually be very important.

Go and work in Dubai - you'll be fine on a Sunday night.

Saturdays might be a pain though.

If you have been drinking lots of alcohol over friday and saturday then could it be possible that you have a kind of 'come down' anxiety?

I have known a few people feel that way on sundays, including myself (back in the day) following particularly heavy drinking weekends.

-- Also looking at your posting profile, you seem to have a lot of job related st going on.... sounds like a probably source of angst.
