Anybody have any experience of Paraperisis?

Now I must point out in the first instance that this is purely speculative (whilst being something that is a concern to me)
Background - Dad has very restricted mobility and severe problems with his lower limbs. He has had 4 vertebrae replaced with a titanium cage, cervical myelopathy and paraperisis
At 71 he has struggled with his mobility since his late 50s and is steadily degenerating (regular falls, walking frame and a wheelchair)
The worry from my PoV (apart fom seeing my Dad like this of course) is that - as I understand it - Paraperisis in this country would likely be the HSP strain (Hereditary Spastic Paraperisis). I have been noticing for some time that my calves are very tight and seem to carry a constant soreness and am also struggling with general fatigue and lower back pain (going into the left glute but not a full on sciatic issue)
A lot of info on the internet (I know) would suggest that I carry a 50% chance of inheriting and the above symptons do seem to be indicators.
Would anybody on here have any other info on this, and the process with regards to looking into diagnosis?
