I woke up at 6 am today, so much for my Sunday lay in.. I was freezing cold and shivering like nobody's business, started coughing and noticed the phlegm was bright red. I was somewhat alarmed and called 111, just got back from the hospital after being given amoxicillin. I don't smoke, I drink and am generally healthy but sometimes drink too much. Has Anybody else had a similar symptoms and been as freaked out? What did it end up being?

Cheers.

I’ve had many a chest infection which has resulted in coughing up blood. Never smoked but had asthma badly as a child. If you’ve been checked out and discharged I wouldn’t worry too much!

What did the doctors at the hospital say it was? That’s what it’s likely to be rather than something a non medical person on here, who didn’t assess you, thinks it might be.

Yeah Dr said my oxygen levels were a bit low. And said to use my inhaler, he didn't seem. Overly concerned.. Good to know more people have had it and gotten over it.. My boss however, was quite pissed thay I'm not going to be
