Saw a feature on the BBC website about Mark Wahlberg's daily routine. Seems a bit extreme...

He's 47 so it'll be far harder to remain in shape, I remember Hugh Jackman saying he was glad that Wolverine was no more because as he got older he found it harder and harder and more exhausting to get to the fitness and physical look that is needed for the role.

Whats with going to bed at 19:30 and then getting up at 2:30 though, why not just go to bed at 22:00 and get up at 5:00!

Less pointless than an hour of golf!

It says in the article it's a 47 day regime before a new role...

I've just lost a stone in a month.

Broke up with girlfriend and spent summer clearing out an attic room in a house. Think C5 hoarder type programme.

Redecorating and then moving out from my flat to said attic with constant trips to dump and climbing flights and flights of stairs with heavy boxes/furniture.

So lost weight and a trouser size first time since my early 20s and I'm 56.

No praying tho.

Plus, you'd think he could combine that with another 30-minute activity (eg, shower or snacking) as "praying" is pretty much just "thinking about stuff" isn't it?
Seems a waste of a good half-hour which he could spend on further cultivating those guns.

Could have been 2 stone if you'd prayed!

I translated that into 1/2 an hour making a lady scream Oh God, Oh God at the ceiling. Or similar but on his own in the shower perhaps....

Seems a bit extreme and pointless, there is far more efficeint training programmes that would get him in the shape he's in without devoting most of the day/night to it.

Then again, I'd imagine a lot of well conditioned actors routines consist of 10 mins administering HGH and about an hour or two training hard a day.

Its so he is able to get his first gym session etc out of the way, so by the time his family are awake he is able to spend time with them

Or he could get up at 8.30am and go to bed at 1.30am like I do? Or whatever is less extreme to impress by being able to say he gets up at 2.30am. IT ISN'T IMPRESSIVE IF YOU GO TO BED WHEN YOUR KIDS GO TO BED!!

I used to go to bed at 2am and get up at 6am. So... ner.

It was a response to a question when he was doing a Q&A on Instagram.

The context of it is that he did this routine for 47 days in preparation for a new film role.

Taking into account Tom hardy did two hours of boxing, two hours’ Muay Thai, two hours of jiu jitsu, two hours of weightlifting a day – seven days a week, and then did filming afterwards for his role in warrior. Marky Marks routine seems very feasible.

Fair play to him, being 47 years old and working hard to achieve a look, takes a lot of commitment. Although i am sure the millions of dollars helps with the motivation!
