Returning to driving after bi-lateral knee replacements

Hello PH'rs,
I'm looking for advice please. How long after a bi-lateral knee replacement operation will it be before I can return to driving my manual porker?
I expect the times to vary but would love to hear about other returnees' experiences I had the op' on Sep 14 and am thinking 3 months - meaning Dec 14 or thereabouts.
