Has anybody else been involved with one? If anybody's not entirely familiar with the term, they're people who use others for their own gain, and feel no guilt or remorse for it. They pretend to be your best friend for so long, and ditch you with no explanation after they've got what they want. No understanding of guilt, shame, remorse or empathy, and they cannot feel love. They lie alot too, and won't think there's anything wrong with it. Try to make you feel at fault when they've had enough of you, and know how to make you feel that way too.
Seem like the most charming and amazing person when you first meet them, but then they start to show what they're like without their mask on, and they turn into the worst person you know.

No but I know of one via his niece, his most recent escapade of an excuse as to why he couldn't make the 3hr drive to see his extremely ill mother..had a blow out as he was on his way and even sent a photo of his wheel/tyre, the niece did a quick reverse google image search and his photo was the first one to show up laugh

I've brushed up against a few people with those tendencies. I wouldn't know whether they were official ones. I saw enough rapidly enough for me to have nothing to do with them. It really doesn't take long for it to come out. I've never really understood how people can be strung along for years by people like this. Their emptiness seems very obvious to me.

Yes and I still do, not entirely by my own choice but circumstances are limiting at the moment.

It makes life very unpleasant at times, extreme ungratefulness while expecting a hell of a lot for nothing in return. Guilt trips is one of 'their' favourite methods of getting what they want. Fortunately I'm a cold hearted fker so that gets nowhere wink.

Manages to appear charming and kind to outsiders but to people who see them day to day or live with them realise they are an abusive alchoholic. Has managed to hide their unpleasantness from a couple of elderly, well off family members so has landed a good chunk of inheritance that they wouldnt have got if the relatives knew the whole story.

This is just a brief insight and some elements are a lot darker.

I had a girlfriend many years ago who was a sociopath. They are quite fascinating, they seem to not really understand the concept of right and wrong, lie repeatedly even when it is obvious and create their own alternative reality which actually genuinely becomes real to them.

Donald Trump is likely a sociopath, so we all have the 'benefit' of getting to see what the condition looks like on a regular basis.

'The Peter Principle' where everyone reaches their level of incompetence. An organisation is only kept going by people yet to reach theirs.

And yes I've met a couple, and worked with some. Often quite successful.
