I'm 53,slightly overweight and run an electric bike business. I am relatively fit and most of our customers tell me stories that galvanise me into action. Extensive history of diabetes, heart attack etc on maternal side. I've had dull discomfort in my chest for a few weeks now. Quite by chance read the attached article this morning. Went to GP earlier this morning and had ECG and blood test on the spot. They didn't think I was having a hear attack at the time. Awaiting results. For heaven's sake READ THE ARTICLE and if any doubt - get checked !

Thought it would be LAD.

I guess that's the downside of exercise - you think you can get away with eating st. st is still st even if you're not getting fat.

Edit: oh, could it be heartburn/acid reflux?

I'm having an MRI on the old ticker tomorrow morning, probably nothing wrong but as ever worth getting these things checked out. Start of mine - feinted while having a blood test for something else (not unusual for me rolleyes), heart rate went very low, ECG showed some heart rhythm abnormality and now I'm being subjected to more tests. No symptoms before or after that. I run at least 20km a week.

Probably being over cautious with me as I was diagnosed with Sarcoid in the lungs a few years back and it can affect the heart too.

Hopefully you've just pulled a muscle or something. Good luck!

When I mentioned to the GP I'd started back on a KettleBell snatch protocol 2 weeks ago he looked at me blankly ! I'd forgotten quite how horrific 18 minutes 3 x a week can be...in my glory days sub-50 I once did a 52 minute session !

Costo-chondritis perhaps, though that's more of an itching/burning sensation, but does give dull ache across the chest & into shoulder

Had it for 8 yrs now, fking hate it as it's a horrible feeling /sensation. Often comes on when coming down with an illness.

Very minor chest pains turned out to be myocarditis for me earlier this year.

I had a very low white blood cell count so was put in an isolation room and hooked up to a 12-lead ECG for a couple of days.

Cardiac cath lab with the flying table was interesting, as were the pants hehe
