Pain on outside edge of foot

I’ve done a bit googling, but I am still not 100% sure what could be up here.

At the weekend I got up off the sofa and noticed a pain on the outside edge of my left foot.

If I twist my foot so the outside edge is towards the ground, essentially trying to turn the bottom of the foot so that it faces my right hand side ankle, I get a pain that feels as though the side of my foot (almost exactly half way down the foot), the bone if you like, is trying to burst through my skin. If I hold it in that position, it is like a hot burning sensation.

It doesn’t affect me walking or doing my weights, and I don’t even notice anything being wrong, but if I move my foot in the way I describe or it I attempt to rotate my foot then I can make the pain appear on demand.

Any ideas what it could be or how I could treat it?

Could be a fracture. Could just be bashed.

Mine was a niggle, I thought. My physio reckoned it wasn't ever broken as it would have hurt more, but I guess I'll never know. Get it checked if it is that bad.

Cheers. I don’t remember ever injuring it, I’m sure I would have and it doesn’t hurt at all really unless I do a certain movement. Very strange
