night time driving glasses - tint or not to tint?

so i finally need glasses to help with driving at night as im a bit short sighted.

before i go and order them - as they're my first glasses do i need any of the options? opticians all seem to sell various tints, ultraclear, anti scratch etc. are they a rip off / not needed or do you have them for night time driving? thanks

Anti glare is a must for driving imo.

If driving at night then obviously you don't want tints.

Anti scratch is nice so you know you won't wreck the lenses should you not have a lens cloth with you and you use your t-shirt to clean them, but not essential.

Thinner lenses make the glasses slightly lighter and depending how strong your prescription is can stop you getting weird reflections on the outside of the lenses.

Same position here, opted for the anti-glare and they do help with the glare from headlights.

I believe the anti glare coating is the same as anti scratch.

I got this coating on my driving glasses. I've never been without the coating though so I don't know how effective it is!

well luckily it was 2 for 1 glasses at specsavers so got 1 with anti glare and 1 without so i can try both!!
