3D printed inner soles
Discussion
Has anyone got some of these?
I need to replace my 'sole control' inner soles, my feed have a high arch and I suffer from plantar fasciitis. The shaped inner soles really help, but thought that 3D printed ones, tailored to my feet, would be much more beneficial.
I understand they are ~£200, I imagine multiple pairs drive the cost down too.

Yep - paid £245 for my most recent pair of these kind of orthotics, though that included the consultation with a podiatrist who knows her stuff. I was at the point of giving up sport, but these have kept me going for another dozen years. Worth every penny, to avoid nearly falling over with pain when getting out of bed the morning after playing a match.I need to replace my 'sole control' inner soles, my feed have a high arch and I suffer from plantar fasciitis. I only get one pair at time, but use them in every pair of shoes I wear. Be aware that they do eventually wear out - might last a decade, but I do a fair bit of training and sport, so mine were ready to be replaced after 6 years. The heel had worn through to the point where it was transparent, and the they had lost their resilience, which is needed to give your feet the required support. Only realised when the pain had returned..!
Thanks. Can I ask who you use to get them made? Seems there are a few places, but no real reputation because it's so specialist!
I'm wondering if my current inner soles are due to expire, as I'm having sore knees (https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&f=&t=1786432), I've had the inner soles for 4 year and wear them every day.

Not sure if these would do for your purpose, but I’ve heard good things about these sidas insoles for cycling shoes
https://www.sidas.co.uk/treatments/orthotics/
£89 a pair seems to be the price, with discounts if done with other stuff

Don't have a manufacturer name, all organised via the podiatrist. Took moulds of my feet and sent the casts from here in Scotland over to Ireland, where the orthotics were made. Got back to me in just over a week.I'm wondering if my current inner soles are due to expire, as I'm having sore knees (https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&f=&t=1786432), I've had the inner soles for 4 year and wear them every day.
I have osteoarthritis in both ankles, I have no cartilage left at all, which can be very painful.
I used to use orthotics, and gel heal pads. I thought they were helping, until I ditched everything, and moved to wearing Vivobarefoot shoes.
I've seen a huge improvement in quality of life from reduced pain, but also, I am seeing strength return to my ankles and calf muscles.
How are you when you walk barefoot? If you are ok barefoot, then looking into a complete change of approach could be life, and trying barefoot shoes, could help.

I'd only walk around the house barefoot, so not much to gauge it on. But I'd say after a while, my feet hurt across them, honestly feels like the bone is just going to snap left to right. I get the same feeling when I wear shoes with little to no support.I used to use orthotics, and gel heal pads. Swapping between shoes is also painful, luckily I can wear anything to work, so stick to New Balance with special inner soles in, which is what I wear 90% of the time. When going out for a walk, I change the inner sole into my walking boots and it's fine for miles. But if I put 'proper' shoes on for a dinner etc (without the inner soles), they'll hurt from little walking about.
I have custom orthotics.
I used the London Orthotic Consultancy
https://www.londonorthotics.co.uk/clinics/kingston...
My daily headaches went instantly it was life changing.
IIRC including the first consultation and stuff, they were about £400. First pair lasted about 4 years of constant wear. Currently on second but they only cost about £100 IIRC.
Finding shoes that fit them properly can be a pain mind...
