Rash? Insect bites? Allergy? Chicken pox?

Morning all,

My thirteen year old has suddenly broken out in "please insert one of the above" pretty much all over his body. The photo below is his thigh, but they're also on his stomach, back, inside upper arms and lower legs. Pretty much everywhere except his face.



I took him to a pharmacist yesterday, but he had no idea and just said to take antihistamines and go to the GP if it didn't get better. It's spread far further overnight.

The closest I can see in Google images is bed bugs, but unless IKEA are shipping them in new mattresses these days, I think that's unlikely, especially as he's the only family member affected.

He says they're itchy, but has no symptoms other than that.

Does anyone have a view as to what it might be? I don't fancy going and sitting in an NHS walk in centre for hours, but on the other hand, don't really want to send him into school tomorrow if it turns out to be something infectious!

To confirm, have you done the glass test on the rash? If the rash stays when you push a glass onto it, A&E asap?

Hoping for a good outcome.

I will do. One would've hoped a pharmacist would've at least picked up on that though!
