Hi Team,

Following a horrendous time at work and in part being on anti depressants that make me want to eat, I've put on a few lbs. Now, I'm shortly to visit Centre Parcs with family/friends and whilst I know I shouldn't give a hoot what others think, I unfortunately do. I don't want to display my D cups and balcony to the masses, especially my arse of a brother who has given me a hard time about my weight for over 20yrs.

I fully intend to come off the meds and throw myself into exercise, however I've run out of time.

Question is: Have folk any experience in wearing swimming tops, long sleeved or otherwise? Preferably one that doesn't make one look like the Michelin Man?

Any guidance would be great. Thanks..

I bought one last year after getting burned, again. I try to keep up with sun lotion etc but spending ages in the pool with the kids the top of my back and shoulders always get burned. Thought fk it and bought one of those SPF tops at one of the local shops - nobody gave a st. Something like this:

Will be taking it on next holiday, far easier than constantly lotioning.

That said, they're fairly tight and especially after swimming they hug the figure. If it's not sunny you'll draw attention to the things you're trying to hide rather than avert it.

I'm not in the world's greatest shape and never comfortable wandering around in the nip but I figure you can't let it stop you.

If it is only a few lbs - you'll draw attention to a normal body and look odd.

If you are very fat you'll look like a fat bloke in a funny top - if I was your brother (and an arse) that would be red flag to a bull (assuming the top you get is red!)

I'd opt for "you're a f**king c**t" nice a clear when he is being a tool.....he either takes the hint or, if not...why the hell are you holidaying with a c**t??

I'm with this. Plenty of Dad-bods out there and you'll be barely noticeable as another chap with his belly on show.

Try and cover it up and you'll stick out like a sore thumb.

Enjoy your holiday and get "My brother has a small penis" tattooed on your back smile

Honestly no one will be looking at you and anyone who does isn't worth thinking about

You don't say whether you're a man or a woman or when you're going, regardless of which you either flaunt it or lose it, but you can't hide it in a swim suit. You won't be on your own that's for sure.
A bit late now, but there are ADs which don't make you hungry.
Start your new healthy diet and exercise ASAP.

"especially my arse of a brother who has given me a hard time about my weight for over 20yrs."

This is my biggest issue - if thats a serious point I'd put some effort into resolving that. Personally, I'd simply remove anyone from my life that wasn't positive - but I'm big on being around people I like not people I'm related to (in that, I give it no thought - if I like my bro I'll hang with him....if my mum's a tt I'll shut her out) but if you want to do the "family" thing - raise it with him in advance.

If your brother makes a comment when you're by the pool, just give him a big, manly, brotherly hug. Do it every time he makes a comment. In fact, get in the pool so you're wet, then get out and give him the fleshy hug.

Don't do it; you will stand out.

This is like gyms, people think everyone will be looking at them but the reality is everyone is concentrating on their own thing.

I was once in the same position, extremely conscious of my size, well shape actually!

Just remember what is a big thing to you is not to others, also a lot of people are like you and unhappy with how they look.

Not being funny have a beer with your brother and just say ' I know we have a laugh about my weight but could you lay off it doesn't help and actually has started to get to me '

The t shirt will draw attention, people will look at you when they usually wouldn't.

Use your weight advantage over your brother to sumo him into the deep end when the wave machine starts.

Being body conscious does suck, but covering up would possibly make you feel more so. Embrace it for the holiday, then put in the work when you come back. I used to be quite swimming pool shy, I got over it by purchasing a pair of speedos that would make most Frenchmen blush.

Just be one of the presumably plentiful guys that eat too much. Don't be the fat guy that is ashamed of being the fat guy and is trying to hide it, that invites ridicule.

Don't worry about it though, its not like you're going to be fat forever
