What do we think of this?

Did this to myself today, arms similar but not as bad and burst my lip as well.

Worth a doctors visit or just ignore it and keep ice on?

Looks like a haematoma, not much to do if able to weightbare and not causing pain. Ice compress wrapped in a towel 20 mins on and 20 mins off. Elevate and observe for signs of infection.

Walked 3 miles on it today, just seems to be getting larger and larger.

Wasn’t sure if I had hit bone and damaged as I landed on the shin.

In USA at the moment so it’s not as easy/cheap but will sort it out.

Haematoma is a collection of blood under the skin, similar to a bruise. As you're walking and doing every day things gravity is pulling that bruising down. I personally wouldn't get that checked especially if not causing you any issues. Doesn't look infected to me

Showing similarities to when I got an insect bite at roughly the same height and then became infected, went yellow like that and then red and purple, ultimately putting me in hospital for 4 weeks with cellulitis and nearly losing my leg when the IV ABs initially wouldn't touch it! Hence why I said "might" because for peace of mind it would - imo - be a good thing to get it checked out. Sure, it could just be bruising from that colour but the way it's suddenly progressed all the way down his leg to his foot would have me concerned, personally.

Just so we all know, I fell on it while falling through some joists. There was no bite/ anything went in my leg.

Jeans I was wearing protected the leg from any real cuts.

Don't get it checked. You're seeking medical advice on a car forum and seemingly looking for affirmation; to not bother going to a doctor. Just don't go.

But I've seen sights like that before where the colouring is an infection which, if left, can go very very bad eventually putting you in hospital. But it's your leg and you seem to want to avoid getting it checked... so just go that route and let us know how it goes.

That just looks like an impressive bruise to me.

If it was properly infected it would look a lot angrier, and hurt like a mofo.

Assuming you feel well and it doesn't get worse I'd be inclined to just keep an eye on it.

Is that red mark a track mark? I saw similar with a daughter's blister, the eldest noticed a reddening of the vein which was a sign it needed checking.

Red line is where my jeans stitches caught it while trying to put them on to go out for dinner.

As I say I feel ok, it’s just sore when pressing it but was slightly alarmed when my leg started going yellow further down.
