Buggered my knee
Discussion
I managed to fall over a kids scooter (no I wasnt riding it lol) and landed directly on my knee. Instant excruciating pain, I couldnt get up for 10 minutes or so.
I have had my MRI and I have sprained my medial collateral ligament, torn my medial meniscus, my patella tracking is off but my biggest problem is that I have a PCL tear. the radiologist wasnt 100% sure whether it was a complete tear or only a partial tear.
Has anyone any experience of having one of these? if you have how long did it take to heal? did you need surgery?
I am currently waiting to hear back from my consultant.

Not a common injury.
Not usually too bad though. Your knee surgeon should be able to answer your questions. Examination will classify the degree of PCL tear. Doesn't always need surgery. If he braces you, make sure you get the thing fitted and supplied early.
Its already 3 weeks since the injury, with the NHS fannying about, my NHS scan appointment isnt for another 10 days Luckily I get health insurance through work, Saw the consultant monday, and had the scan yesterday. I am an MRI radiographer so had a look at my scan and have been told what the report says. I have bought a neoprene brace today just to give it some more support over the weekend when I am at Carfest. Not ideal I know but we are all really looking forwards to it.Not usually too bad though.
