Help! 39M overweight, drink too much regularly, normal stress levels. Can generally run around after kids though. On a slow weight loss plan, done 1.5 STS in the last year.

I've started getting sudden flu like symptoms but without the respiratory issues. Sickness, squits, and lathargic beyond belief. Typically last 24-48 hours before 100% power is restored. I've had spells like this before in my 30s. Generally go and get blood tests for diabetes and all fine. Could be coincidence but I've noticed it can be after strenuous activity.

Any ideas? I'll go and get more blood tests, but it's now a once or twice monthly occurrence and driving me and my wife nuts.

With the usual caveat of not being a medical professional...

That sounds to me like you have an infection. Your body attempts to get this out of you or suppress it which it does temporarily, knocking you out in the process - only for it to reappear. If it's happening regularly, your body needs some external assistance so get yourself back off to the docs - ask them to test your st.

If it doesn't pass - get your testosterone levels checked. I had exactly this (without the overweight part) for another reason. Being overweight and 40 are bad together and can easily effect your natural testosterone levels leading to exactly the symptoms you describe. I went on for 2 years without diagnosis.
