Contact lense woes. Blurry and need to blink to fix?

I've signed up for contacts again after years without them.
This time around, I needed toric lense in one eye, which i never needed before. optician advised eyes can change shape over time.
Treid 4x different brands of toric and every one was uncomfortable and could last no longer than 2 hours before being pulled out.
Optician has changed to normal lenses, and is ofsetting the astigmatism quality for comfort. Fair enough.
But now, although they are not hurting, they feel dry straight away and all the time. If I blink, the image goes blurry and i need to blink a few times more to 'reset' the vision and get it back sharp again. I need to do this every 20 minutes or so, and the max i've managed before the dryness felt terrible was about 5 hours.
Optician confirms no issues with the eye and nothing to worry about. Would a different brand help? Im using some cooper vision lenses, which ive got a DD with monthly delivery for, but theyre just not good enough and will probably buy online.
Also, the optician has gone from a toric lense of -1.25 pwr, 8.6 BC and 14.2 Dia to a normal lense -1.75 8.6 and 14.1 which I cannot understand. Is this an attempt to offset the comfort problems with a toric lense?

Your toric lens has two elements: a sphere correction, a cylinder correction & the angle of cylinder so when your optician changed the prescription to a simple lens he had to compromise the sphere power slightly - hence the change from -1.25 to -1.75. The base curve & diameter seem to be the same across most manufacturers & in general aren't specified - they just are what is available.
As posted in response to your other thread have you tried lenses like Acuvue Oasys or even Acuvue dailies? If your eyes are dry then get some eye drops & see if they improve the issue.

After many lenses I've also been on Acuvue Oasys for Astigmatism 2 weekly for many years.
