private back pain treatment
Discussion
Hi,
Anyone had any experience of having private diagnosis of back pain?
had it for years due to a car accident and its just terrible at the mo. have seen 20,000 chiros, osteo's, pilates etc etc etc.
the crash was 25 years ago so would like a full mri to find out exactly is gong on once and for all.
dont have private cover so will come out my own pocket so want to know its worth it / any recommendations.
Thanks

Would having an MRI report that says "post traumatic spondylosis" make a difference? You already know the diagnosis.
Would you have lumbar fusion surgery if offered?
Have you spoken to your GP about an NHS referral?
Well i'd like to know exactly what the issues are now. when it happened i had a small fracture in top vertebrae and squashed and protruding disc at the bottom. that was 25 years ago so has it all healed / what would be the best course of action etc.Would you have lumbar fusion surgery if offered?

in my mind cant decide anything until know exactly what the current issues are. surgery would be last resort but am getting to that stage. would at least like injection.
gp is useless - have been referred again to a crap back clinic that will no doubt give me some photocopies of exercises to do like always.

There are other ways to help people than by cutting them open.You'll get some good advice on the Spinal Fusion thread https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...
