What happened to me? Woozy flush.
Discussion
Went out thursday to a gig, had a few beers but not daft, woke up Friday morning feeling a little fuzzy but no less than you'd expect, checked my breath (0.28) couple coffees then went to work, but increasing I felt still drunk, as if I'd crawled out of a club at 3am and had 3 hours sleep. Unbalened on step ladder, fumbling things. Then at 11 I'm carrying tools back to the van, suddenly I'm nauseous, there's sweat dripping off my brow (its about 3 degrees) and I'm not sure I can even make it or I'm going to collapse in the street, got to van and had a sip of water which seemed to trigger something worse, spend the best part of an hour sat slumped staring at the ground with a woozy rushing sensation wondering if i was going to fetch or if this was something serious. After it diminished slightly I had another sip of water which seemed to trigger it again. Eventually it subsided and I got on with the day (had some people waiting on urgent-cies, cancelled a couple of other jobs) but felt exhausted, like I'd done a few with Mike Tyson.
Sorry for general vaugue-ness, but any idea what this could be? The mrs questioned the beer I was drinking but my guts didn't play up. Similar has happened in the past which COULD be the same - one day at the end of festival a couple years ago I got up, again "yes we were partying but I'm ok", packed and stowed all our tent and gear, drove half hour or so then came over faint, was a hairs away from having to stop on the hard shoulder even though there were services like 2 minutes away as I was loosing it, but made it and basically sat in a coffee shop staring for an hour unable to consider continuing the journey even as a passenger. The mrs put that one down to a migraine which isn't something I generally suffer from.

That sounds quite a worrying episode.
You need to see your doctor to get this checked out, as it could be a variety of things.
Just a thought, and I know it may be unlikely, but is there a chance that someone is slipping you a Mickey Finn?
That happened to me in Africa and I was violently ill for two days, I really thought I was dying!

I don't have much sugar at all, eat a reduced-carbs diet, and don't generally eat anything till the afternoon or evening.
I don't follow this to extreme and if I get hungry I'll eat, but even when I ate a standard western diet I never cared for breakfast and could go all day forgetting to eat when busy, just have a mega slow metabolism or whatever.

I suddenly developed similar symptoms (and hadn't had a drink for weeks beforehand
). It transpired that I had a problem with my adrenal gland that had suddenly manifested itself with fainting spells and tachycardia.
I'm not for a minute suggesting that you have the same as I did but you should get to your GP asap. This is one of things where forum diagnosis is probably not a smart or sensible thing to do - the first manifestation of a problem for me was at the wheel of a 400 hp car in a built up area.

I will but I need to talk this through, fully detail and understand it myself and get some ideas and pointers before going to the GP.
And without meaning to pour poop on the entire profession, pistonheads correctly diagnosed the agony in my foot as gout after our health services janitor-playing-dress-up had given me a load of BS about shoe fitting.

definitely a trip to doctors .
I had similar about a year ago but with vomiting as well and the cant make it i basically crawled to bathroom. Ending in advice from doctors to ring a ambulance. which resulted in all manor of tests and found a abnormal "mark/line" down back of brain . But no specialist could pinpoint what caused it or what the mark was ,so got discharged as never happened again , so yours could be a random thing as well. but definitely get checked out incase

Diagnosis - starvation.I don't follow this to extreme and if I get hungry I'll eat, but even when I ate a standard western diet I never cared for breakfast and could go all day forgetting to eat when busy, just have a mega slow metabolism or whatever.
Booze does funny things to you blood sugar levels at the best of times let alone combining it with surviving on a single lettuce leaf all day. I prescribe a bacon sarnie.

Alcohol slows down metabolism and the rate at which nutrients are delivered to your systems. The rate you need those nutrients delivered changes as we age so the impact of denying them to your body increases as we get older.
It's highly unlikely that you have a slow metabolism already as you'd be on here complaining of weight gain, depression, constipation, headaches, brittle nails and other ailments.
knowing your age
previous medical history of note - asthma/copd/resolved chest pains before
current meds of note - statins/warfarins, etc
family medical history of note - eg cardiac arrests, etc
general health - overweight/marathon runner, etc/smoker
would be a useful start if you feel at liberty to say.

I don't think its anything to do with the lack of eating this was 11am, for me not eating till 6pm is typical - as for booze I have drunk far more and eaten far less... this was not a fainty five minutes due to hunger or a bit of loss of concentration, I generally tend to understate things... It was sudden onset, somewhat intense flu like symptoms maybe.

41, no ailments or meds besides gout flareup once or twice a year treated with painkillers, not overweight, active lifestyle due to work but don't work out, not smoked in 10 years, eat healthy, do like a drink though. My dad did have a fairly mild heart attack in his early 50s 20 odd years ago but is still just about with us, don't believe there's much history besides that.previous medical history of note - asthma/copd/resolved chest pains before

Stop doing this... not eating until 6pm regularly does not sound like a smart thing to do. There's a lot on reduced sugar/carbs and I.F. and it's a fascinating subject with a lot of research coming out that's challenging traditional ideas and suggesting there are considerable health benefits, happy to have that convo in detail if it interests but I'd rather not on this thread. How I eat happily nearly every day did not in all probability give me this huge weird reaction on one solitary day.
dizziness can be caused by a multitude of factors such as:
low blood pressure
low blood sugars
cardiac issues caused by, eg, atrial fib
TIA event
neurological
the only way to confirm whats happening is, i'm afraid a visit to your doctors. if you prefer, id suggest booking an appointment with the practice nurse there. they will be more recent 'frontline' expereince. at the very least, it sounds to me that we need a BP, BM and ECG as a minimum. given the cardiac hx you mentioned, it feels quite important you go?
