I've never had any health problems so thought I'd ask here as google seems to dwell on Osteoporosis

A couple of weeks ago I couldn't sleep as my right hip ached.

Then it started aching when I was sitting in my armchair

Then it radiated down to my knee and I now can't cross my legs without it hurting.

Yesterday my calf ached in slippers / trainers but was fine when I was wearing my work boots

Today my ankle aches too

On the basis my calf hurts in flat shoes but was fine when I wore my boots which have a heel I'm wondering if this is all about foot support ? Currently my hip and knee only ache when I'm resting.

Seems strange it's just come on but my wife developed Plantar fasciitis last year which I'm keen to avoid !

Forties, active, 75kg

So is it time to see my GP or yoga, gym or high heels laugh likely to be a better bet ?

Look at some IT band and piriformis stretches on YouTube/google and see if they help

I had piriformis issues and the main symptom was knee pain

Thanks - to be clear the ache is just in the hip joint and the knee joint (and now ankle) - not between the two.

Sciatica seems to be a pain running down the length of the leg rather than just the joints (or am I wrong)

Yes ,you are partly correct . I had isolated pain as well as the whole leg

Hi,

Sounds exactly the same as I had a few months ago. I was referred to a physio who said it was a nerve in my back. He did some massaging of my lower back (4 sessions over a month) and gave me a couple of stretches to do each day (try and touch my toes and then bend backwards).

All okay now.

Dave.

From the symptoms that you describe it’s more likely to be gluteal pain, radiating down the ilio tibial band. A clinical assessment from a suitably qualified clinician will confirm the diagnosis and point you in the right direction for treatment.

Same here, still get issues as I’m too lazy to stretch!
Very difficult to stretch these bad boys and it’s painful too but they do tighten the whole leg in my experience.
