Sometimes I wake up in the middle of the night absolutely drenched in sweat. It's happened twice in the last week or so and about a dozen times this year. I have no idea what's causing it, but I'd like it to stop.
Any ideas as to what the heck is going on?

I've not had this for a long time thankfully but for me stress and/or anxiety was the trigger.

Get a hormone check done. Low T can cause it in middle / late middle aged men. Not assuming you are but this is PH hehe

I have this all year round have to sleep with window open, I've had bloods done and T check no issues there. I'm 30.

go see your GP.

Nights Sweats can be serious or nothing at all. Don't miss the signs.

And me.
Not shut my bedroom window in years. Can be snowing outside and I’ll sweat like I’m stuck in the desert.
No rhyme or reason as to why it happens - I can go weeks without it happening.

Always have done for as long as I can remember.

Currently on the tail end of flu or similar and that has given me the worst night sweats I've ever had. Running down my face in the middle of the night. Seems to be easing now thankfully.

Get them occasionally for no particular reason. Never really worked out the trigger.

Seconded Biggles.

Lost a good friend two years ago to something that initially presented as night sweats.
