Can't open bottle!

Boots chesty cough medicine bottle. My poor MIL can't get the bottle open. She has tried press down and turn also squeeze and turn.
She says it has two arrows pointing the same way.

Help please folks.

That does sound like a push together and twist one but they can be buggers.

If she's within an hour of me in South Essex I'd be happy to open it, bit bored tonight!

Brad thanks. We have tried to contact a neighbour with no luck. We are hundreds of miles away in France.

She's a tough old bird but seems very down at the mo with this cold.

Ah that's rough mate, must make you feel a bit helpless. My own mum has been struggling the last few years so I know how that goes.

Look it's probably four or five hours round trip from here but if she is still struggling in the morning let me know, if it gets desperate I'll go up there.

Can she share a photo from a phone ?

if its the squeezy lock type one running it under the hot tap might soften it up a bit as long as she doesnt burn herself. Also if its sugary and not opened in a while it might be a bit gummed up. Again a bit of heat can help.

Thank you dandarez that's appreciated although it was Old German Heaps who should get the medal for a brilliant bit of lateral thinking that saved the day! I wish I could use my brain instead of just rushing into things.

I would have been happy to make the trip if it was necessary, it would have been a nice mornings drive and I would have been back in plenty of time to get my bits done. It must have felt awful for magoo and his OH to have been stuck so far away while the lady struggled.

Just sharing a wee trick my gran showed me. Learned plenty on here over the years.
PH can be a nice place sometimes.
