Did wonder if we have anyone with experience of the low fodmap diet?

It's been recommended to me by a dietitian friend of my wife. I gather it can reduce IBS symptoms significantly, just looks like quite a significant effort - particularly getting something together to take into work.

Anyone here got some hands-on advice on fodmap before I give it a go in the new year

Saved my life. I did strict fodmap for two weeks, then slowly introduced foods back in to see exactly what was making me ill. I learnt to love rice. And eggs.

It have me the space to work on the real cause of my ibs which was stress in my case. Can't recommend it enough

It’s extremely effective to work out what your gut can and can’t tolerate, but you have to stick to it religiously for two weeks, then reintroduce foods gradually. My o/h is also a dietitian, and it’s the first thing to go for for new patients where she works.

I was recommended it when diagnosed with colitis, but didn't make much of an effort with it. I looked into it again a few weeks ago and I'd like to try it for a couple of weeks. I found that a food diary worked for me, and allowed me to work out that spicy food and red onion are a no-no.
