Make your own Face Masks

Didn’t know which section this belongs in - was tempted with Homes & DIY, but it’s more of a health question.
In other EU countries (like CZ) people seem to be making their own face masks. Not sure how effective the home made ones are, but they do look cool and it got me thinking about making my own too.
Anyone on here tried making a mask themselves? The mrs has a sewing machine so it might be time to figure out how that works, and maybe filters designed for other things might be able to be used for masks.

Filtering idea for your design... pantie liners? Currently working on a design using mother's vast supply of incontinence pants, but that's another topic.

Get yourself some vacuum cleaner bags, if there are any going spare.

You didn't say they had to satisfy N95 filtration though; are you upping the design criteria already!!? Are they N95 though?
The deviant fetishist market is probably well catered for already, but I wouldn't know!
FFP3 masks are capable of filtering viruses. FFP2/N95 still do to an extent, but are less effective.
Anything else merely functions to stop you touching your face as far as I can see. If you are staying 2m away from people you are unlikely to get any direct strike from spittle etc.
If you have any FFP3 masks, do the right thing and donate them to your local hospital. If we have enough PPE enough of us might get through this to treat people in the post covid era!
The very best thing to do is not go within 2m of anyone else, don't touch anything you don't have to, and wash your hands.

Apparently even though normal face masks probably dont contain the virus, the countries that wear them seem to have a better outcome for virus infections compared to ones that don’t, so the jury is out on whether face mask vs no face mask is truly effective or not.
