Vitamin B12 injection options?

I have a problem, I'm due my vitamin B12 injection, unfortunately, my surgery is shut due to CV19. Unfortunately, the HUB service isn't available currently either!

I've phoned my local private hospital, but, they've curtailed their out-patients operations too.

Bizarrely, my GP surgery offered me B12 tablets...

Where are you? I get mine from the GP but I do know of a private service in Kent, I think they charge something like £40. Edit - just checked their website, it doesn't say they are closed but they are screening people prior to agreeing to F2F consultations.

I also know someone who sells home kits, the connection comes via a very trusted friend but I can't vouch beyond that.

You can also buy in non-kit form from European websites (ie you have to buy the B12, the syringes, etc separately)

And finally, the nurse who administers mine did recommend the sprays, you can get those from Amazon, you spray into the cheek lining (mouth!) and the idea is that it's absorbed there whereas you can't absorb it if consumed. Might help tide you over for a little while.

My next one is in a couple of weeks, they've moved me to a different surgery but so far still going ahead.

I was meant to start these last week but all cancelled for the foreseeable. One of the many smaller health impact on people that we will all be putting up with for the next few months unfortunately

My wife does her own. There is a pernicous anemia Facebook group on called the B12 Deficiency support group that has loads of information on needles, where to buy etc. Be warned apparently if you ask a question rather than looking in the information already there they get knocky. Sounds familiar.

My wife cant remember where she bought hers, somewhere in Germany. Needles come from a different place

Yeah, I think it was Germany where I found they would sell it to me, and possibly Spain for the needles. not sure why it has/had to be complicated.

I get mine done every 10 weeks, the surgery recommendation is 12 but I "run out" before then. MrsC can always tell when I need it even if I don't remember or realise, I really do slow right down and struggle with a full day. The nurse who does mine said to always ask for her as she's happy to do it on a 10 week cycle but said other nurses at the same practice might refuse. She also said something about some surgeries getting pissy if you asked for it too frequently.

Apparently, according to a mate, who bought his B12 in from SA, you can buy the required syringes from Boots?

Does anybody eles find they are always hungry when it's becoming due?
