Dentists During Lockdown

I pay my dentist monthly using https://www.denplan.co.uk/ .

I chipped a tooth last week. Nothing too serious or painful but in normal circumstances I’d have liked the dentist to look to make sure it wasn’t going to fracture. Obviously the dentist isn’t working but advised me over the phone to buy a DIY dental kit from Boots and repair it myself.

Should I cancel the dentists direct debit if they cannot offer the service I’m paying for?

What does your Denplan cover? Mine is two checkups & three scale & polishes a year & while I can't book one at the moment I can still have them in the future so I haven't yet lost out. If it came to the end of the plan year & I was hadn't been able to have the treatments I'd paid for it might be a different matter but that's not yet the case.

There might be an "emergency" NHS dentist near you.

My nearest is Accrington, last year they charged £18....

However, whether a chipped tooth is an emergency?

No in all honesty I cannot say it’s an emergency. What I am saying is that I seem to be paying for something not being provided.

When my gym closed they immediately stopped taking payments.
