CV19 - Anyone else think they might have had it early?

I've seen a few people mention that they had "something" (a bad cold, vaguely flu-like, etc) this winter.
We did, with all 3 of us in our household (self, Mrs D2P and 13-year-old) pretty much knocked out for several days in December. That's pretty unusual as we're all generally healthy and rarely get laid low.
With the news from France of a suspected pre-Xmas case (re-testing blood samples), we were trying to remember exactly when this was and something else clicked into place.
Mrs D2P did some temp work in December and remembered we got ill shortly after.
"It was just after I finished at X" (X being a multinational manufacturer with a local workshop and design facility)
"Hmm, they'd have lots of international customers wouldn't they?"
"Yes, of course... and, er, they're owned by a Chinese consortium, with their engineers and execs meeting a couple of times a week... in the meeting room next to my desk..."
Pass the tinfoil hats but if we had the same thing now we'd have no doubt it was CV19.

Cough started NYD.
Took most of Jan to shake off, no energy, knocked me for a doozy. I don't remember, temp, loss of taste, tight chest though. I wasn't self isolating (obvs) wife didn't get it. Loads of people in the village did though.
Be interesting to have a test.

Yep and said so before on PHs.
I'm usually last to get any flu bug in our family, normally well after Xmas and into New Year. Not this time. I was struck down for a fortnight or so, bed ridden for several days and coughing up phlegm daily. In years gone by it would be much later into the following year and normally your nose dried hard
progressed eventually into a dry cough. This time, no. Constant streaming eyes and yuk being produced. Probably the worst cold/flu/whatever, I have had to date (to date means 'many' years!).
I don't have the flu jab, rather it went to someone else deserving. Never had one, not going to start now. The odd thing was once I was back up and out, I bumped into a couple of old friends in town, both who had streamers! I kept well back while chatting, saying you seem to have gone down with something similar to what I've had, except no way could I have gone out. But then came this line 'We both had our flu jabs last week.'
Now I know all the stuff from GPs and Docs that it doesn't give you a dose of the flu. I'm not saying it does. AND I'm certainly not advising anyone to not have the jab, but people are different re meds. I don't (luckily) take any meds at all. I'm bloody unusual among my friends in my age group, most pop them daily, some many! One lives in her med. cabinet I think! I'm hard pushed to take a couple painkillers unless it's bad. People are different. Take Tramadol, I was away with the fairies on them. Never, never, never again! Pain was preferable. Yet when my brother in law was on them he had no ill effects, none. My wife has the flu jab and you'd never know.

I came down with something similar in Poland in early March. Fatigued, high temp, flu symptoms and a chesty cough for about a week, I called 111 who were adamant that because I hadn't been to Italy or China I couldn't possibly have it, so I didn't need to take time off work to isolate. Madness to look back on it now!
I'm not sure it is the same thing as the winter lurgy. Myself and my partner both had that thing over Christmas, I had it right through the holiday and she had it first 2 weeks of Jan. But then we are pretty sure we've both had the Corona over the last 5 or 6 weeks and while the Christmas thing shared some of the symptoms and was quite nasty the more recent one ticks more of the boxes. I'm inclined to think they were 2 different things.
Official timelines say no, but I appreciate the whole picture is not clear yet, so I think there is a possibility.
Had a flu like virus after Christmas, my wife had a fairly mild experience (although did note breathlessness) but I went through the usual bedbound, viral exhaustion etc and then mid January moved on to severe cough and breathlessness until I was hospitalised with pneumonia and needed more than a week of high flow oxygen therapy to bring O2 saturation up to just borderline levels. Negative for flu, tests determined it was bacterial. No prior issues, fairly young and in good health but I appreciate these things are not unheard of. Given the test results, I took it to be a flu(-like) virus compromising my immune system which allowed the bacteria to take hold and cause pneumonia. It took around 6-8 weeks post discharge to clear the cough and bring SpO2 up to a more normal level.
I'd flown internationally every month of 2019, I was in Italy and Switzerland in early December. I'd be somewhat interested to know if the hospital retained any samples that could now be tested for CV19.

I was chatting to my mum about this, yes. She thinks so.
Had a friend who's wife is from Wuhan. They were there in late December. I saw in in early January. I seemed to have a cough and little else, my mum was worse with the fever and more stuff.
Were I having those symptoms now I'd be checked, but otherwise who knows. It could be nothing and I was over reacting.

I had something early February. Doubt it could have been COVID-19 as the symptoms don't match but it was the worst illness I've ever had. It was like the most severe tonsillitis with bad sores on my tongue and roof of my mouth. I couldn't brush my teeth as my whole gums became infected and sore so had to use mouthwash. It lasted 4 weeks and I lost a stone in weight. I didn't eat a single thing for 4 days solid and lived on painkillers for weeks. I couldn't sleep as the pain relief wore off every 2 hours and I had to hold out until I could take them again. It did start out COVID like. I was at a kids party and felt ill. On leaving, my teeth started chattering beyond control and I became feverish. I went straight to bed and the next day the throat problems kicked in. I don't know what it was but I never want to go through it again.

I might have had it as well in February, but the early anti bodies tests are available now for about £100. Am I confident enough that I had it to pay out that kind of money to prove it?
If it came back positive it would absolutely be worth it for me but how confident am I?

I had something very early March but doesn't fit with the typical symptoms for covid-19 as in a sore throat and very tired for a week or two but a colleague did have it along with an 11 day spell in hospital because of it.
It was also coincidental that my sister and her family had similar symptoms to me and she also had several colleagues that suffered with covid-19. My sister and I had no contact prior to us both feeling unwell so not a case of us sharing something but independently catching something.

I think all this self diagnosis can be pretty harmful, you convince yourself you have had it and that you are therefore immune and act less cautiously. Better to wait for the test rather than guessing IMO. I had cold symptoms early in the year, I dont believe it was corona as the symptoms didn't really match. Loads of people had a bug early in the year, personally I think it was a separate issue.
January here. Weird sore throat for a few days, that vanished then the coughing started and stayed. Partner had the same shortly after. Several friends who I've had no contact with have said the same, around New Year as well.
The media reporting in this drives me mad, we're clearly not been given the facts and figures are being heavily manipulated.
For example, an undertaker friend told me that numerous bodies are being notionally checked by the corner via Facetime as they lift up arms & legs etc. At the end of this the coroner is somehow able to determine the cause of death was covid.
Similarly, they've had bodies in their storage for weeks where's there's been no family and therefore no pressure to arrange a funeral. No checks, no visits, no investigation and these bodies have officially been signed off as death due to corona.
That's just 1 outfit in a not-particularly hard hit part of the country. It's a farce.

I've had a bad cough for 3 weeks on Tuesday and thats it, but its been a really bad cough my ribs and stomach hurt from coughing so much, can't sleep with it and have coughing fits, I've been wheezy as well. Two courses of antibiotics didn't touch it, was dry cough for 10 days then wet been bringing up major gunk. Would really like to be tested as my father had lung cancer as his only symptom was a cough buy they are unwilling to xray my chest or see me. Either I've been very unlucky and got the worst cough I've had in my life or its covid, my toddler had simular symptoms dealt with it better, gf had mild cough, I'm a bit chubby and was a smoker.
